I'm versatile as an Instructional Designer, Video and Media Producerand Program and Project Manager.

Recent professional work:
Most recently at Microsoft and in roles I've had since I have:

  • Co-produced a dramatic mini-series to teach marketing skills internationally.

  • Created self-paced (microlearning and e-learning) and instructor-led training.

  • Supported marketing and sales staff in enhancing their skills.

  • Produced complex internal websites.

  • Produced technical training in the use of ServiceNow systems.

 

Before working at Microsoft, I produced trainings for public education teachers with TNTP nonprofit and training for lawyers around the world to protect children from tobacco marketing. I also developed and co-facilitated diverse education programs for a large hospital system in New Mexico, including in-person, live-virtual events, computer-based, and hybrid curricula.

ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND

Energy systems work --> Video production --> Instructional design

Energy systems: 
My career began with studying the management of energy systems in society and working with government and not-for-profit organizations that deliver energy systems. (Recently I have applied this knowledge in designing training about solar energy systems.)

 

Video: 
Later I became a professional video producer for educational institutions, corporations, and public television in Massachusetts, Oregon, and New Mexico.

Instructional Design:
From there I moved into developing training programs, receiving a Master of Education in Instructional Systems Design. I also gained experience as a trainer, training program coordinator, and process improvement consultant in manufacturing companies and hospitals. 


Communications, PR, and Training Delivery: 
My role as a Director of Communications, creating outreach and PR campaigns for a national non-profit that supported families of children with special needs, was extremely rewarding. Before and after I directed two non-profits based in New Mexico, including training acupuncturists across the country in trauma recovery intervention and Heart Math resilience skills. I also earned a certification in professional coaching and worked with private clients as a small business and career coach. As well, I became certified as a DiSC facilitator, acudetox practitioner for trauma and addiction recovery, trainer through Peak Potentials Training Company, and public speaker through public speaking trainer Richard Greene.

 

Professional writer:
I've been a writer for three publishing companies and have authored and co-authored two books of my own.
